Sally’s Apizza is a beloved pizzeria with a rich history that dates all the way back to 1938. The restaurant still uses the very same coal-fired oven that it has for more than 75 years to create its signature thin crust pies, and regulars travel from far and wide to get a taste of one of the oldest pizzerias on the East Coast. Sally’s Apizza is appropriately located in the Little Italy section of New Haven, not too far from 360 State, and it has a casual ambiance that is ideal for weekday lunches or family dinners.
The menu includes only traditional pizzas, a few speciality pies, and a small selection of Foxon Park Sodas and bottled beers for adult guests. Every pizza is made to order, which means that it takes a bit more time than more modern pizza joints, but once you taste your first slice from Sally’s Apizza, you’ll likely agree it was worth the wait.
