Check Out These Local Pizzerias for National Pizza Day

As the temperatures drop, all of us are craving some comfort food that we can hole up with in our 360 State apartments, and luckily for Bozzuto residents, National Pizza Day – in which we celebrate all that’s cheesy, saucy and delicious – is right around the corner on Nov. 12!

If you need a little precursor to your big Thanksgiving meal, then check out one of these pizza shops in New Haven to get your fix of the comfort food staple that everyone can appreciate, whether it be topped with pepperoni, anchovies or just some melted cheese.

Modern Apizza, located at 874 State St, New Haven which is a 15 minute walk from your 360 State apartment, serves brick-oven, thin-crust pizzas and a few Italian classics in a roomy, unadorned space that is popular with locals.

Modern Apizza was founded in 1934 and has been in the same spot ever since. Stop by to check out some of their specialty favorites such as their eggplant pizza, seafood supreme pizza with crabmeat, clams casino pizza and more.

Da Legna, located at 858 State St, New Haven which is a 15 minute walk from your 360 State apartment, serves wood-fired artisan pizzas and small plates in a casual, industrial space with exposed brick.

Entrenched in lifetimes of tradition and admiration for a rich culinary and cultural experience, Da Legna joined the New Haven Community in 2012. The restaurant still accomplishes what it intended – it sources as much from the local area as possible.
