Visit Connecticut’s Winter Wonderlands This Holiday Season

There’s a reason the holiday season is often referred to as the most wonderful time of the year. Many people embrace the holiday spirit and if you travel around New Haven and other local Connecticut communities, you will find beautiful, mesmerizing lights and festive decor all around! If you have already seen all of the festive cheer around 360 State Street and are looking for more, here are some great events where you can find twinkling light displays and more holiday fun.

Take a short drive to East New Haven and visit the Fantasy of Lights display which will be going on throughout the month of December. There will be over 60 attractions and more than 100,000 creating this wonderful holiday show. 3D glasses will also be passed around to make for a better viewing experience for special lights that make the attractions come to life! Have some fun and help a great cause to help get into the holiday spirit as well! All proceeds from the event are donated to Easter Seals Goodwill Industries, to help people with disabilities. Hartford is about a 45 minute drive from us here in New Haven, but their two mile long festive lights display make the trip worthwhile! Join other Connecticut locals and celebrate the holiday season at Holiday Light Fantasia, which will be held now through January 1st. The light displays featured in this show combine several holidays including Hanukkah, Three Kings Day, Christmas and New Years. As guests drive and make their way through the lights, holiday music plays to enhance the festive experience and holiday scenes. To learn more make sure you check out their website.
The Festival of Silver Lights is another winter show that will take place close by to New Haven. In the neighboring town of Meriden, visitors will have the chance to see over 350,000 lights illuminating more than 200 scenes and displays.
