Apple season is one of the most anticipated and exciting time of the year for fall lovers, and the perfect weekend activity if you are looking to spend some time outdoors and enjoy the wonderful crisp fall weather. 360 State Street is just a quick drive from some of Connecticut’s best apple orchards. Below are just a few suggestions in the local area, not more than 30 minutes away from New Haven where you can do all your apple picking this fall!
Hickory Hill Orchards (Chesire): Just 30 minutes from us here in New Haven, apple picking adventures wait! Hickory Hill Orchards is celebrating its 39th apple picking season this year. If you want to visit soon you can find about five different varieties of apples with more to come as the season goes on. Bishop Orchards (Guliford): Bishop Orchards is less than a 20 minute drive from 360 State Street! Their orchards fill several acres with over 20 different varieties of apples to choose from. Starting September 10th when guests who visit can stop over at their corn maze for a fall fun adventure! Their maze is in the shape of a Red Panda adding a little extra fun to the adventure. Their market serves fresh cider and donuts as well for a snack to grab on your way out or to enjoy during an apple picking break.
Rose Orchards (North Branford): Just minutes away from New Haven, this apple orchard is another great Connecticut orchard where you can find some of the finest fruit and apples. They offer apple picking during the season every day from 9am-5pm. They also have a creamery on site where you can enjoy some of their homemade ice cream, frozen yogurt and custard.
