Visit Lyman Orchards in New Haven This Summer

Who said orchards were just for apple picking and fall enjoyment? There is plenty to do at Lyman Orchards close by to New Haven in the neighboring town of Middlefield. Just a 20 minute drive away from 360 State Street, enjoy some fresh fruits this summer season by picking some local berries and participating in fun events.

Savor over delicious Connecticut fresh strawberries by visiting the orchard for strawberry picking, or take part in the Strawberry Festival taking place on June 11th. Special events will be set up such as breakfast on the deck overlooking the orchard fields, tastings, pie eating competitions, pony rides, live music and much more! Local New Haven artist Ian Biggs will be providing the musical entertainment for the event. There will also be prizes up for grabs such as Dixie Chicks tickets, and tickets to Six Flags theme park. For more information about this specific event, visit the event page here.

If you are someone who loves berries, mark on your calendar another berry festival taking place the following month in July! Blueberry Fest will be happening this year on July 9th. Live music will be featured this festival, as well as all the other fun from Strawberry Festival. Visitors will have a special treat of being able to pick raspberries and jostaberries as well since they are both currently in season too.

If you are not able to make it to either festival, don’t worry! Visit the Orchard picking page to learn more about visiting at your convenience for picking fresh berries and the best time to come. Lyman Orchards also offers a 24 hour phone service where you can call to ask any questions and find out what berries are the most fresh and there are an abundance of at any given moment.
