New Haven is a great city with tons of amenities, making it easy to forget that we’re right on the water and the amazing nature that brings us. Get refreshed with a little cruise to Thimble Island this March! Starting March 5th, every Saturday and Sunday you can join Captain Mike and the crew of the Sea Mist to tour the famous Thimble Islands off the coast of Branford, Connecticut. There, you’ll get a chance to enjoy the coastal atmosphere and watch as seals frolic and play in the nearby water! The Thimble Islands attract some of the largest group of seals in the state and it’s an awesome experience for those not used to such exotic wildlife.
Each trip is about an hour or more long, with different pricing for adults and children. If you’d like to make a whole event of the trip, you have the option of chartering your own private seal watch cruise! Reserve a two hour charter for up to 38 people…that’s a lot of 360 State neighbors! You can bring your own food or have it catered, with bar service available. Because seal watches take place in the late winter and early spring, be sure to bundle up in warm clothing and wear boots or deck shoes. And don’t forget your camera! While touring, be sure to get a bite to eat at Thimbleberry or The Stony Creek Market.
