New Years in New Haven

It may not be Times’ Square, but New Haven is full of events to start the New Year off right! Ring in 2016 in our city with one of these local events.

Head over to Cafe Nine, at 250 State St., to enjoy their New Year’s Burlesque Cabaret at 10 p.m. There will be games, hors d’oeuvres and a champagne toast. Doors open at 9 p.m. and tickets are $15. This event is adults only, ages 21 and up.

For a more family friendly New Year’s event, First Night Woodbridge features a DJ dance party, with face painting and more. The event is from 6-10 p.m. at the JCC of Greater New Haven, 360 Amity Road, Woodbridge. Dance, play games, eat, toast with sparkling cider, and watch the “ball drop” before making it home ahead of the masses. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $15 for ages 13 and up, ages 12 and under pay $5, and children 2 and under are free.

Check out Joker’s Wild Comedy Club on Wooster Street in New Haven, as they host a New Year’s Eve Comedy event. The comedy show this year is with Gary Vider, Greg Stone, Beecher and Shawn Murray. Cost is $25.
