Columbus Day may seem a ways away, however ,the President of the Columbus Day Committee of New Haven has announced a series of events to take place throughout September and into October for New Haven residents.
The next event, the Walking Tour of Wooster Square, takes place Saturday September 19th. Meet at 1:00 p.m. in front of the Christopher Columbus Statue in Wooster Park, Chapel St., in New Haven, where two guides from the New Haven Trust Foundation will tour the Architectural and Historic sites of Wooster Square.
Other expected events include a Pasta Dinner prepared by the Church Squires Group, a Cultural Event at East Haven Hagaman Memorial Library, the Columbus Day Committee Annual Heritage Dinner, and a Wreath Ceremony, where the wreaths are placed at the Christopher Columbus Statue.
The last event of course will be the Columbus Day Parade, on Sunday October 11th. The Parade starts at 1:00 p.m. and is from Coe/Short Beach Rd to Main Street, ending at Circle Lanes.
