Apple season has begun around New Haven! There are some great locations nearby to do some apple picking this fall, starting with the Belinsky Family Farm. Located on 124 Moose Hill Road in Oxford, the farm is open for apple picking from 9am-5pm on the weekends, with all your favorite apple varities to choose from for picking.
Another farm close by is Bishop’s Orchards Farm Market. Located on 1916 Middletown Avenue in Northford, you can pick your own apples from 10am-5pm on the weekends until October 17th. For some family fun, the farm is hosting “Fall Fun at the Bishop’s Orchards Little Red Barn” open daily from 10am-6pm on weekdays and 9am-6pm on the weekends. Admission is free, and the event takes place at 1355 Boston Post Road, Guilford CT at the Bishop’s Orchards Little Red Barn. Inside the Little Red Barn you will find fall seasonal decorations as well as perishable items. On weekends stop by with family and friends and enjoy face painting, donkey rides, full concession stand, and scarecrow making. Sample the best of Bishop’s Orchards Signature foods like Maple Kettlecorn, Ice Cream, Apple Cider, and Donuts. Their Kid’s Play Korner with the Hay Maze, Hay Pyramid, Tractor Track, and Corn Kingdom are favorites among kids in our area and can provide fun for young-at-heart adults as well!
Three more orchards to check out in the New Haven areaare: Drazen, Hickory Hill, and Norton Brothers Fruit Farm. They’re all located in Cheshire, CT. For more information click here.
