While most of the world may celebrate their Irish heritage on St. Patrick’s Day, New Haven is home to a special event in June celebrating the Emerald Isle. All this weekend is the Connecticut Irish Festival at the New Haven Fairgrounds!
What started as a “field day” in 1963 where some local Irish played traditional Gaelic sports has turned into a two-day festival of sports, music, food, crafts, animals, performances and other facets of Irish culture.
No matter what your ancestry, the Connecticut Irish festival in New Haven has entertainment for all ages and interests, welcoming anyone to participate and join the fun. Check out their website for a full schedule of events, including information and history of all the many different Irish activities that take place.
